Our dog Flo has got tiny eyebrows. Their sizes are 1 cm in diameter and 3-4 black long hairs have come out from each eyebrow.
She had got virus infected spots around her nose which we suppose that she got them when she was in the dog kennel (It is well mainteined but there were about 70 dogs at the moment when we adopted her).
I had noticed that there were spots around her nose but I thought they would be cured naturally (Sorry Flo...). She washes her face with her forefeet and this was the reason that the infection spread. She got a new spot near those two old spots and one near her right eyebrow.
I took her a vet when I saw those spots got swollen and turned red. The vet squeezed (!) the spots (bloody oozy liquid came out!) and he tested if the liquid contained lice. Fortunately, it didn't. Although the vet couldn't clarify what kind of virus affected her, Flo had to take antibiotics twice in a day for a month and wear a plastic collar to avoid her scratches. You can refer to old pictures on this blog (03/06/2007; First picture!, 05/06/2007; Look! Big belly)
Those spot were cured completely. But as the vet said that hairs of the spots wouldn't come out by serious damage of the skin, the infected areas of the spots around her nose seem to have got smaller but still bare her dark blown skins. But the other near her right eyebrow has now been covered her gingery blown hair. Good!
Flo! You are a young beautiful girl. You can't have baldy patches on your face, can you?

When we visited the vet for the first time, Flo looked so happy walking around the clinic and seeing the staff there. She still looked happy when she was put on the bench in front of the vet surgeon until she was hold by an assistant. And then, the surgeon's hands approached to her nose and he squeezed a spot. She yelped. She struggled and tried to escape from their hands all the time afterwards. She was quiet and looked down when we left the vet....
I hope the typhoon wouldn't affect your trip. Have a safe journey!!
