This is not Emily. But we finally found it!

My husband found "Tibetan spaniel" looking like our dog Emily.

Actually, we haven't known her history before she was rescued. They just said she might be a cross of Pekingese. What we know is she was in the government kennel to be destroyed.

Pekingese

My husband sent me a text message when I was working (of course he was also working!) saying "put Tibetan spaniel on the Google". And I did. I found the first picture looking like our Emily on a website.

There is information about the dog on the website;

"This is a small dog that looks rather like a Pekingese. The dog should carry himself proudly. The top of the head is slightly rounded, and the medium-length muzzle is blunt and strong. The expressive oval eyes are dark brown and the nose should be black. The Tibetan spaniel has a plumed tail curled over his back, feathered pendent ear and soft, silky medium-length flat coat. This breed should have hare-feet.

The Tibetan spaniel is perky, happy, very smart, and trusting. They are sweet and protective with their family but aloof with strangers. This breed is a fine family companion, very independent and a good watchdog. It can move fairly quickly on its small, neat hare-feet.

Height 10 inches (51 cm) weight 9-15 pounds (4.1-6.8 kg)

This breed originated in Tibet. it is believed that in its veins runs the blood of the Pekingese, the Pug, and the Japanese Spaniel (Chin). The Tibetan Spaniel was a companion and watchdog at Tibetan monasteries, sitting on the high walls and barking at any sign of intruders. "

All of the information exactly matches in our dog's descriptions.

Still it is a mystery why this rare breed was abandoned in the government kennel waiting for being killed.

We don't care what kind dog Emily is. We just hope she has had enjoyed her life with us and Flo!
